Project Overview

Dow’s Fort Saskatchewan Path2Zero Project is a landmark industrial development aimed at delivering the world’s first net-zero ethylene and derivatives facility. As part of Dow’s global decarbonization strategy, the FS-2 ethylene cracker represents a major expansion of the Fort Saskatchewan complex and one of the most technically advanced industrial projects in Canada.

Rapicon West Contribution

Rapicon West supplied and operated four Potain MD560 tower cranes with 80-metre jibs, strategically positioned across the site to support complex heavy-lift operations. One crane was configured to reach a 110-metre height under hook, utilizing the Potain 900 series mast—the only known installation of its kind currently operating in Canada. Rapicon West also provided full-time on-site technical support and highly experienced industrial crane operators to ensure safe, precise, and efficient operations throughout construction.

Collaboration & Execution

Rapicon West worked in close collaboration with Dow, Fluor, Mammoet, and other project partners to support coordinated lift planning, complex logistics, and site-specific engineering requirements. Strong communication, disciplined execution, and a shared commitment to safety have been central to delivering crane operations on one of Canada’s most environmentally significant industrial projects.
